About the Invisalign® Process
After a consultation to determine that Invisalign® is right for you, Dr. Upadya will create a customized treatment plan. He will take a mold of your mouth at our Summit, NJ cosmetic dentistry office. This mold is sent through specialized Invisalign® software to determine how your teeth should look after Invisalign® treatment.
We will send the files to the Invisalign® laboratory which will then generate several sets of clear plastic aligners to be worn for a specified amount of time each day. The number of aligners and length of your Invisalign® treatment will depend on the problem(s) being addressed and desired result.
You will change aligners according to your personal treatment plan, but generally every two weeks. The aligners are to be worn about 23 hours per day, leaving plenty of time to remove them so you can enjoy the foods you love and maintain good oral hygiene with thorough brushing and flossing.
With Invisalign®, there are no dietary restrictions and the risk of tooth decay is significantly decreased. Patients appreciate the flexibility and comfort of the clear aligners, which are made of smooth, BPA-free material and easily placed and removed.
