Botox and Dermal Fillers in East Hanover NJ

East Hanover dentist Dr. Raj Upadya is pleased to announce two new services: Botox® Cosmetic and dermal fillers Restylane and Juvederm. He is certified to offer Botox® treatments for cosmetic purposes, headache, and trigger point therapy. We believe this is just one more way that we can help our patients look and feel their best. In addition to our cosmetic dental services, we provide Botox® and dermal fillers to new and existing patients in Handover, NJ.

What is Botox®?

Botox® is an FDA-approved cosmetic treatment for patients with moderate to severe facial lines. Botox® Cosmetic is a leading treatment for expression lines on the forehead, around the eyes, on the nose, and between the eyebrows. The active ingredient in Botox® is a neurotoxin called botulinum toxin type A.

Small amounts are injected into specific areas, and it works by blocking the nerve impulses that weaken the muscles that cause wrinkles. Botox also prevents new lines from forming.

Botox From the Dentist?

Seeing your dentist for Botox and dermal fillers may seem unconventional, but it is a surprisingly great choice. Just like a skilled facial plastic surgeon, Dr. Upadya understands the nuances of delicate facial anatomy. He is highly experienced in making skillful injections to the face that are both comfortable and designed to produce natural-looking results.

Dr. Raj Upadya is among the first dentists in the East Hanover area to be credentialed by the New Jersey Board of Dentistry to administer Botox and dermal filler injections. As part of the credentialing process, Dr. Upadya completed a Board-approved training course to learn how to safely and effectively administer treatment to our patients.

Botox injections can typically be completed in one visit to our East Hanover, NJ, dental office. On average, Botox lasts up to 6 months or more. The effects of Botox are noticeable immediately after treatment.

Let us know if you are interested in Botox or dermal fillers at your next appointment. Consultations for Botox and dermal fillers are complimentary. You will meet with Dr. Upadya, who will evaluate your facial condition and recommend the best treatment for you.

In some cases, we may be able to perform treatment on the same visit or schedule a separate appointment at a convenient time.

Botox for Treating Headaches & TMJ

Dr. Upadya is certified to administer Botox injections to relieve chronic headaches and facial/TMJ pain. Because Botox can relax the targeted muscle area, it can often effectively treat jaw tightness and other symptoms associated with TMJ.

Frequent headaches, teeth grinding, facial pain, and sore jaw muscles are often the result of tension in the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), which can be temporarily relieved with Botox injections that Dr. Upadya strategically places.

As a dentist, Dr. Upadya understands the muscular structure of the jaw and how it relates to the bite. This in-depth knowledge enables him to offer this treatment to relieve patients who have exhausted traditional options or need time to explore them.

Botox® & Fillers: What to Expect

Botox has been FDA-approved for over 20 years to treat wrinkles temporarily. This treatment works by relaxing the muscles around the eyes and the forehead that cause deep expression lines. Botox offers a great way to renew your appearance by reducing wrinkles and filling in the hollow, sunken facial skin, often common signs of aging.

Results will continue to appear over the next week or two, and most injectable treatments provide results that last anywhere from 3 to 12 months and, in some cases, longer. The effects can typically be maintained with follow-up treatments conveniently scheduled during twice-yearly preventive dental care.

Dr. Upadya offers Botox Cosmetic and the dermal fillers Restylane and Juvederm. After an initial consultation, Dr. Upadya will recommend the best suited to your cosmetic goals or health needs.

Dr. Upadya will clean the treated area to be treated and apply a mild topical numbing agent if desired to ensure your comfort. The injections are quick and relatively painless.

After treatment, patients can return immediately to their normal routine, typically experiencing only mild redness or sensitivity at the injection site for a few hours.
